Obituary of Rowan Hickey

Rowan passed away peacefully at Hospice Renfrew on May 8th 2015, following a short battle with cancer. She was my love and best friend for 7 ½ years. Rowan loved gardening, fishing, berry-picking and was a talented photographer. Her caring and giving nature inspired those who knew her. Predeceased by her parents William Francis Hickey and Margaret Johnston and her brother Danny. She is survived by myself, Denis Ouellette, her three children Mike Lacasse (Nicole Stevenson), Melanie Lacasse, Tony Evans (Samantha Charron), three grandchildren Amber, Braeden, Allyssa, her many siblings, Ardel, Caroline, Georgette, Alan, George, Christine, Nancy, Judy, Robby, Leroy (his father the late Christopher Wright) and by many nieces, nephews, brother and sisters in law. I wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, Renfrew Victoria Hospital and at the Clinique médicale Le Lotus in Shawville. Also thank you to Rowan’s co-workers at the Bonnechere Manor and the Douglas Lions Club for their generous support. And finally a big thank you to the Champlain CCAC (Community Care Access Centre) and the entire staff and volunteers at Hospice Renfrew for their care and compassion and to our friends and family for being there.
